Privacy Statement and Refund Policies

Albert Einstein College of Medicine-Montefiore Medical Center, Center for Continuing Professional Development (CCPD) is committed to protecting the privacy of its users. Information gathered by CCPD is used to monitor our effectiveness in providing relevant and credible medical information, in answering your questions and in improving our educational offerings.

What We Collect
When you register for one of our educational activities, we will collect:

  • your name, e-mail address, DEA number if applicable (which we may use only for the purpose of verifying that you are a medical professional), your specialty, your type of practice, mailing address, etc. 
  • We collect aggregate information on what pages are visited in order to assess and improve the content of the site.
  • Our Web server does not automatically recognize information regarding individual users, e.g., domain name or email address.
  • We do not set any “cookies” to track visitor’s identification or use of the site

What We Do With Your Information

Any information you have provided will never be sold, given, traded or rented to any third party without your prior approval. Moreover, no business partners or third parties will be allowed to have access to your data under any circumstances without your prior approval. In the unlikely event that we are ordered by a judicial or law enforcement body to provide such information, we will disclose the requested information. In that instance, unless prohibited by the requesting authorities, we will inform you of the official request.

Other Uses Of Information
We may use the information you provide to contact you:

  • To check on potential verification problems, e.g., duplicate registration for the same activity
  • To ask for more detail about information you have provided, e.g., on your suggestions for improvements.

How We Will Safeguard Your Information
Data is stored on a secure server, cannot be accessed via the Website and will never be released without your permission. A restricted number of employees will have access to the data for internal data maintenance purposes.

How Can I Unsubscribe Or Change My Information?

To unsubscribe from our emails, please send an email to and include "Do Not Send" in the subject line. If you have more than one account, you will need to do this for each.  You may request that we provide you with a copy of our record of the information that you provided to use. (See “Contact Information” below.)

Change In Policy
If our information practices change, we will modify this policy statement and use for these new purposes only data collected from the time of the policy change forward.

This statement explains the Center for Continuing Professional Development’s refund policies.  When participating in CE activities, each activity has a separate policy for refunds.  The specific policy for each activity will be posted in materials that are used to market the Center for Continuing Professional Development's CME activities.
